KUPU SB membariga sambutan Hari Kebangsaan

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Isnin, 9 Februari. - Dalam sama-sama menyuntik semangat patriotik serta membarigakan Sambutan Ulang Tahun Hari Kebangsaan Negara Brunei Darussalam tahun ini, Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) hari ini turut mengadakan Upacara Menaikkan Bendera yang berlangsung di hadapan Bangunan Pentadbiran, KUPU SB, di sini.

Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat dalam upacara ini ialah Ra'es KUPU SB, Dr. Hajah Masnon binti Haji Ibrahim serta dihadiri oleh pegawai-pegawai kanan, pensyarah-pensyarah dan kakitangan kolej tersebut.

Terdahulu, upacara dimulakan dengan perbarisan lalu Pasukan-Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Negara Brunei Darussalam berserta dengan pembawa bendera negara bagi mewakili pusat / fakulti / bahagian dan diikuti oleh Pasukan Kadet Bomba KUPU SB, Pasukan Bulan Sabit Merah, sukarelawan dan mahasiswa serta mahasiswi KUPU SB.

Acara diteruskan dengan bacaan Asma'ul Husna dan Surah Al Faatihah diikuti dengan Upacara Menaikkan Bendera dan Penyerahan Bendera Besar Negara Brunei Darussalam yang diiringi dengan Lagu Kebangsaan 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan'.
Laungan takbir 'Allahuakbar' sebanyak tiga kali menyusul kemudian yang dilaungkan oleh Dekan Pelajar KUPU SB.

Course of courage for Fire and Rescue camp participants

A TOTAL OF 87 Fire and Rescue Department Cadets from different schools yesterday wrapped out their four-day training camp as more skilled, courageous, disciplined and united future young leaders.
The cadets proudly received their certificates at the closing ceremony for the camp at the Berakas Forest Reserve, a proof that they are the new owners of skills which can only be gained through trainings.
The camp which began on June 11 was the third of its kind and featured participation from 77 Fire and Rescue cadets nationwide and seven cadet supervisors from six secondary schools and Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB).
Organised by Co-Curriculum Department, Ministry of Education and Training Centre, Fire and Rescue Department, the participants comprised students from Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School, Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School, Rimba Secondary School, Rimba II Secondary School, Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School, Sayyidina Ali Secondary School in Belait and Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College.

The camp united all of the Fire and Rescue cadets from secondary schools and likewise provided them skills on Fire and Rescue.
The cadets also gained experience and discipline through the programme.
The camping programme also provided support to the schools in training these future leaders.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Camp Commandant, Hjh Latifah Hj Sawal said that during the camp, participants were exposed to activities which covered aspects of spirituality, physical activities, community services and charitable works.

The activities such as the flying fox, leadership work and skill competition have encouraged the participants to be more courageous, disciplined, dedicated and better at interacting with one another and be more aware of their surroundings.
Mohd Khairul Ridwan Hj Mudin, a Fire and Rescue Department cadet from Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School said the camp tested their physical, mental and spiritual strengths.
Mohd Khairul Ridwan participated in all the three camps said that there were different activities organised every year.
During the camp, Mohd Khairul Ridwan said they also did not forget to perform their religious obligations as Muslims.
They were also given the opportunities to take turn reciting azan and iqamat (calls for prayers) and in leading the prayers.
Mohd Khairul Ridwan will be taking his ‘O’ Level examination this year and he hoped the camp will continue to higher educational institutions to continue participating in the future.
